Wisconsin Union Bill Passes State Assembly

Wisconsin Union Bill Passes State Assembly Wisconsin lawmakers voted Thursday to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from the state's public workers, ending a heated standoff over labor rights and delivering a key victory to Republicans who have targeted unions in efforts to slash government spending nationwide.

The state's Assembly passed Gov. Scott Walker's explosive proposal 53-42 without any Democratic support and four no votes from the GOP. Protesters in the gallery erupted into screams of "Shame! Shame! Shame!" as Republican lawmakers filed out of the chamber and into the speaker's office.

So the Republicans have gotten their way yet again as Wisconsin labor shows just how impotent it is against the forces of the wealthiest Americans arrayed against it. It makes me both sad and angry which means I'm frustrated about it. The union's loss in Wisconsin means folks in Ohio and here in my home state of Michigan are probably boned as well. How do we common folk fight against wealth and power Mr. Alito? Didn't you roll your eyes during the SOTU when it was suggested that the Citizen's United decision would destroy our democracy, you stupid piece of crap?! Now the rich and their army of religious zealots are clamping down tight on the rest of the nation, bending us to their will, breaking us if they have to. What do they care? For them this is a holy mission, bequeathed to them by Jesus himself. This frustrates me all the more. Our human history is full of religions being exploited for political gain and I guess I expect more out of Americans than scurrying about clamoring how big their god is while they mindlessly support the very people trying to destroy their prosperity!
